Teespring: Crowdfunding Apparel

As a mom, there's always something to fund-raise: kids schools, sports, events, family reunions, bake sales ... jeez, the list goes on forever. Right?! Last year, we tried to make great tees for the Autism Walk. Let's just say it turned out horribly. We went to some crappy place, and they "printed" us shirts. Half of the shirts were wrinkled, disfigured and lopsided. The other half were so thin, you could see evvvverything through them! The cost was outrageous, and we raised a little less than a hill of beans after subtracting all the expenses. We didn't even have shirts in the right sizes. It was a disaster. Never doing that again! It felt like the company's slogan should have been "Oh, you're fundraising? We'll carelessly slap your logo on some 2nd rate crappy merchandise, overcharge your customers and force you to pay us 80% of your profit."

I wish I had known about teespring back then!

Teespring is a crowdfunding platform for groups, causes and communities to design and sell custom apparel. Anyone can come and design a shirt which they can then sell via social media and email. The seller keeps all of the profit the shirt earns, or it can be donated directly to the cause they are fundraising for. The seller is able to set the cost of their shirt, type of shirt, the minimum print number, and the length of their campaign! The best part is the shirts don't print and ship until the end date set by the seller and there are no risks! If the reserve is not met - nothing prints and nothing is charged! This means the maker pays nothing upfront, takes no risk and doesn't have to deal with the hassle of ordering the right number of shirts in the right sizes! It really is a win-win situation ...

Teespring even offers tutorials on their interactive designer and they answer all emails quickly and courteously. I tested them on it. It took 2 business days to have my answer, and it was answered so respectfully. (Thanks!) It was sooo super simple!

I am definitely going to use the amazing crowdfunding site known as teespring for an upcoming library fundraiser & for any of the walks and/or events we're bound to do!

Check out some pretty amazing past campaigns:
